In the latest study of male impotence, men who took testosterone supplements (T) had a higher chance of achieving a successful sex life, compared to those who had not taken the supplement.

Dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, is the only FDA-approved medication for the treatment of male pattern hair loss. Both medications are available under the brand name Propecia, and both are taken once a day, with or without food.

"The findings indicate that finasteride is an effective treatment for male pattern hair loss," said co-author Dr. William Nogales, a urology specialist at New York-PresbyterianWeber Health Center in New York. "The results also show that the use of finasteride has a small but significant effect on the overall sexual function of men with erectile dysfunction."
